(MENAFN) Egypt’s Suez Canal made $374.9 million of revenue in April, up from $346.9 million earned in the same month a year earlier, Reuters reported.

Last month’s revenue marked a drop from March, when the canal made revenue of $379.4 million, a state website showed.

The water-route Suez Canal is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
