Yemen signs $10m agreement with World Bank

(MENAFN) Yemen and the World Bank (WB) signed an agreement to fund the project of the institutional support to the Social Welfare Fund (SWF) at a cost of about $10 million, Saba reported.

The agreement stipulated that the WB would provide $6.6 million devoted to increasing the families benefiting from the cash transfers program and building the capacities of those who benefit from the Fund in some districts.

The program also includes building the capacities of the Fund’s staff in all aspects relating to the policy of targeting through a special program to be implemented by the fund in three provinces.

On another hand, an agreement was signed here on a grant provided by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), devoted to developing the Central Workshop for maintaining road equipments of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges at a cost of $7.6 million.
