Umniah plans $150m expansion of Jordan network

(MENAFN) The Chief Executive Officer at Umniah, a Jordanian unit of Bahrain Telecommunications Co. (Batelco), said that the company is planning to invest as much as $150 million over the next two years in the country to expand services, according to a press statement.

He said in an interview that there is room for growth in the market for mobile and fixed broadband, adding that the segments have low market penetration of not more than 4 percent or 5 percent in terms of subscription, and between 27 percent and 30 percent of users penetration.

It is worth mentioning that Batelco is largest telephone operator in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
