(MENAFN) A senior executive at the UAE’s Federal Customs Authority said that customs offices at all UAE points of entry will start levying the new unified tariffs for 37 services to facilitate procedures for importers and exporters, Khaleej Times reported.
He indicated that the new rule will be implemented in line with the Cabinet’s resolution No. 45 for 2009 and as part of the UAE’s commitments to the GCC customs union and other international conventions.
The unification of tariff for customs services is aimed at facilitating transactions for importers and exporters and simplifying procedures in compliance with the needs of the authority’s strategic plan, he added.
The Cabinet resolution involves unifying 37 services offered by local customs departments to ease trade between the UAE and the outside world, said the executive.
