Transformational Leadership Workshop

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, hosted a workshop entitled, “Transformational Leadership” which was facilitated by Dr. Sally Watson of Lancaster University Business Management School. Attended by 18 members of the Executive Management of BBK, its subsidiaries and its international branches, the workshop took place on the 11th of April at the Gulf Hotel – Kingdom of Bahrain.

The workshop is aimed at exploring fresh ideas on leadership in business, experiencing a range of approaches to developing leaders and investigating leadership development options aligned to BBK strategic direction. This one day workshop objective is to become more aware of current personal style of leadership and critically review and develop ideas on leadership while discussing the ‘best fit’ for leaders in the organization. It also explored the current trends in leadership development through exercises that emphasized collaborative approaches. Additionally, the program examined the various challenges facing the sector and implications for the development of transformational leaders.

Commenting on this workshop, Mr. A.Hussain Bustani, Assistant General Manager, Human Resources and Administration recognized the role of leadership which ensures that the organization endures, sustains and prospers in the face of the global and regional economic and social challenges. He also stated, “The Bank is proud to embrace a team of reputable leaders that the Kingdom has to offer and is always on the look for developmental programs and workshops that will benefit the Bank, its leaders as well as its stakeholders.”

Dr. Sally Watson combines her role as Director of Executive Education at Lancaster University Management School with her role as a lead facilitator and programme designer at MSB where she is working with a range of blue-chip clients in the area of leadership development.
