The Royal University for Women hosts a series of lectures by BBK

BBK – Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking – supported a series of lectures organized by the faculty of Business and Financial Sciences of the Royal University for Women. These series of lectures commenced on the 21st of February and ended on the 3rd of April 2012. Designed to be divided into several sessions, BBK’s Chief Executive, Mr. A.Karim Bucheery was the guest speaker, presenting a general overview on the challenges faced in the banking sector. Attending Mr. Bucheery’s lecture were Mr. Mazin Juma, President of RUW and Dr. L. Sykes, Vice President of the RUW.

On his presentation of recent issues and challenges facing the Banking sector Mr. Bucheery, emphasized on the significance of the role and contribution of Banking in the economy by saying: “We are proud to take part of this lecture that bridges the gap between the theoretical knowledge and the practical operations of the Banking industry. This collaboration between BBK and RUW is a set example of how we can put real life examples into a classroom of young and bright future leaders.”

Also taking part in the series of lectures with more specific topics related to their area of knowledge and expertise were BBK’s General Manager – Business Group, Sh. Rashed Al Khalifa, along with a group of officials from the Banks various divisions to name a few; Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Transactional Banking and Treasury and Investment, in addition to a spokesperson from CrediMax; BBK’s wholly owned subsidiary specialising in credit card issuing and acquiring. At the end of each lecture, the students had the privilege to have a question and answer session to get a better understanding of the topics presented. 

Dr. Mazin Juma, President of the Royal University for Women also commented by saying: “This cooperation between the university and BBK does not only open future collaboration opportunities between both sides, it also  allows students to ask questions and bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge and the practical aspects of their financial studies.”
