Qatar, Russia join hands for Yamal gas project

(MENAFN) Qatar and Russia reached an agreement to jointly work to develop the gas reserves of Russia’s Arctic Yamal peninsula, The Peninsula reported.
The two parties will further develop their cooperation through implementation of oil and gas projects in Qatar and Russia, including the integrated project of development of natural gas reserves of the Yamal peninsula, in third countries.
The countries also agreed on developing joint scientific research. Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry, H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, and Russia’s Energy Minister, Sergey Shmatko, signed the agreement statement.
