Morocco sells 16.6% stake in Comasel to IFC

(MENAFN) Morocco’s National Electricity Office (ONE) announced that it has sold 16.6 percent of its subsidiary in Senegal, COMASEL, to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, Reuters reported.

Set up in 2008, COMASEL is a Morocco-Senegalese joint electricity company in charge of supplying power, to rural areas of Senegal’s Saint-Louis region.

This company is granted a 25-year permit. It covers some 550 villages with a population of 362,000 people.
