GCC business confidence on the rise

27 Apr 2010

(MENAFN) The GCC Business Confidence Index rose by more than 20 points in the first three months of 2010 across almost all Gulf countries, indicating that the region’s business people are far more positive about their prospects than a year ago, according to a press statement.

Saudi Arabia continued to be the most optimistic in the GCC, leading the index at 96.3 points, while only Bahraini business people saw a slight dip in confidence though they remain positive and are far more optimistic than the UAE on balance.

Business confidence in the UAE recorded a lower score than any other country in a year ago, but has recovered more gradually than other countries. The index now stands at 76.6, up from 57.9 year-on-year.
