BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking has held its first Alumni Club reunion event on the 5th of December 2015 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. More than 400 former board members and employees attended alongside the Board of Directors and executive management team.

Commenting on the first reunion, BBK Chairman Mr. Murad Ali Murad said: “BBK has become an institution that is looked up to, for its family spirit, one culture and heritage. This is attributed to the solid foundations that the former employees have built, a legacy that will continue for the years to come ensures the current employees fulfill the vision that the founders have set. The creation of this club is to recognize these founders and former employees, to bridge the channel of communication between them and the Bank and transfer their experiences that they gained over the years to the new generation”.
During the event, Mr. Hassan Al Jalahma was honoured as BBK’s former Chairman. He also received the first membership card issued by the Alumni Club as a token of appreciation. His contribution to the Bank, and especially his guidance and perseverance during the difficult times was highly appreciated and praised. On this occasion, Mr. Al Jalahma thanked the Bank and its leadership for this recognition and wished BBK continued success for the many years to come.
Addressing the attendees at the reunion, BBK Chief Executive Mr. A.Karim Bucheery said: “The objective of this club is to bridge our successes, to link the employees valuable achievement from the start of the Bank’s operation in 1972 with today’s pioneering position and tomorrow’s ambitious outlook. This great initiative once again, reinforces BBK’s leading position, being the first local Bank to launch an Alumni Club. BBK always valued its employees, who have been an integral part of the Bank’s continuous success. They will remain a valuable source of inspiration, guidance and advice to BBK and we are pleased to create the Alumni Club to reunite all the BBK family members”.
The Alumni Club will bridge the gap between the Bank and its former employees through various activities organized by the Club. The formation of the BBK Alumni Club represents an important milestone for BBK since it underscores the Bank’s appreciation of the invaluable role that former employees continue to play in the development and future successes of BBK and of the financial sector of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a whole.
