BBK shows support towards the Bahrain Historical & Archaeological Society – donates BD 3,000

In line with their strategic initiatives for a brighter community, BBK- Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking- handed over a cheque of BD 3,000 as a gesture of their support towards the Bahrain Historical & Archaeological Society (BHAS).   The cheque was handed over by Mr. Abdulkarim Bucheery, Chief Executive of BBK to Dr. Essa Mohammed Amin, President of the Society, in the presence of Sh. Khalid Bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President- BHAS, Mr. Hassan Tarradah, Treasurer- BHAS and from BBK Mr. Reyadh Sater- General Manager- Shared Services Group, Mr. Abdul Hussain Bustani- Assistant General Manger- Human Resources and Administration and Mrs. Rafa Kaddoura- Corporate Communications Manager.

Dr. Isa Mohamed Amin, Chairman of the Bahrain Historical and Archaeological Society said:” I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to BBK for the support of the society’s activities and events in maintaining, documenting and highlighting Bahrain’s ancient history through holding cultural events, implementing development projects in historical research and documenting our heritage”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Abdulkarim Bucheery, BBK CE said: “ The Bank is always keen on giving its supporting BHAS given the significant role played by this Society in the Kingdom to encourage the new generations to maintain their national loyalty and preserve our history and the achievements of the Kingdom. 

The Society has received regular support from the Bank through various donations over the past years. Those contributions help the institution with the additional financial aid required to encourage the study of the history of Bahrain and its archaeological heritage and to promote research and reports of interest in this field.

The Bahrain Historical & Archaeological Society is one of the oldest societies specialized in historical studies and archaeology. It was established in 1953.  Since then the Society has been active in organizing publishing periodicals, original papers and translating books. It has also contributed to archaeological excavations in Bahrain. Its library is one the most specialized libraries on Bahrain History and archaeology. Dilmun is a referred Journal of the Society.   
 
As one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain, providing regular contributions to various humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years, BBK has supported entities including major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at achieving the sole goal and vision of a brighter future and community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
