BBK promotes 7 Bahraini employees to leadership positions

BBK, Bahrain pioneer in Retail and Commercial banking, has announced the promotion of seven of its high-achieving employees to senior leadership positions. Since inception, the Bank has focused on attracting and training Bahrainis to be part of their growing team. It has steadily developed career paths for employees to be qualified to take senior decision-making roles in all areas of the Bank. This recent list of appointees is testimony to that commitment.
The Bank announced recently the promotion of Najwa Al-Ahmad to the position of Assistant General Manager, Human Resources; Ahmed Saleh Taqi to the position of Assistant General Manager – Remedial Management; Mohamed Al-Rayes to the position of Assistant General Manager – Investment and Private Banking; Hussain Toorani as Executive Senior Manager in Treasury, AbdulRahman Buheji as Executive Senior Manager and Acting Chief Credit officer; Latifa Al Sadeh as Executive Senior Manager Corporate Banking and Mai Al Hamer as Executive Senior Manager – Alternative channels.
Speaking about those promotions, Group Chief Executive of BBK, Dr. AbdulRahman Ali Saif said, “I am pleased to see that our Bahraini high-performing employees have come through the ranks, earned their qualifications through rigorous training and development programmes in their various fields of expertise, and are today well qualified to step into these positions. Each one of them has demonstrated their merit, both as leaders and team-players.” 
He expressed his pride in BBK’s performance at all levels, especially its Bahrainisation strategy, which reached 94%, with women occupying 40% of the total number of employees.
Echoing these sentiments, Group Chief Human Resources & Administration, Hassaan Mohamed Burshaid, stated that BBK is on track with its employee-training strategy for the years 2019-2021. “We are satisfied with the progress to date and we will continue developing Bahraini talents, preparing them for future leadership positions, and motivating them to contribute to supporting the financial services sector of the Kingdom, especially in today’s digital transformation era. I am pleased that women have a strong presence in this series of promotions, which reflects the Bank’s commitment to empowering women and appointing them to leadership positions in line with the principle of equal opportunities. ” added Mr. Burshaid.
In his closing statements, Dr. Saif said, “Bahraini banking professionals have always been an important source of qualified personnel for banks and financial institutions. We are proud that BBK is one of the largest contributors to the development and training of leaders in the field. The importance we give to the education and training of Bahraini talents gives them the confidence and ability to maintain Bahrain’s position as the leading financial center in the region.”
