BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking presented prizes to the winners of its 2013 Annual Awards during the Bank’s annual dinner held on 9th January at the Gulf Hotel. These yearly awards are part of the Bank’s Employee Recognition Programme (ERP), which was launched in April 2013 and is aligned with the Bank’s philosophy that a motivated and engaged workforce translates into a superior banking experience for its customers.
The programme rewards BBK employees who have either demonstrated exceptional performance or who have made significant contributions in a number of specific areas, such as creativity, organisational ability, workplace success or teamwork.
Throughout the year and under the ERP programme, BBK has recognized deserving employees for notable achievements in support of the Bank’s performance and productivity objectives, based on criteria set out by the bank’s senior management. A high number of employees were presented with ‘Spot Awards’ and ‘Monthly Awards’ in its 3 categories: bronze, silver and gold.
The pinnacle of achievement by BBK employees is represented by the Annual Awards, under six distinctive categories – the Chief Executive Award for Excellence in Leadership, the Chief Executive Award for Distinguished Achievement, Best Teller, Best Sales Consultant, Best Customer Service Representative, and Best Team Leader. All candidates put forward for consideration by divisions/department heads are carefully evaluated by BBK’s “Awards Committee” and the selection of the six winners follows a rigorous assessment process.
During the Award Ceremony, Mr. A.Karim Bucheery, BBK’s Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted to present the first Annual Awards under the bank’s Employee Recognition Programme launched in 2013. When we introduced this programme, our objective was to provide a more powerful means of motivating and rewarding our employees, so that they could achieve even more than we already knew they were capable of, and go the extra mile for our customers. Highly motivated employees are BBK’s most important competitive advantage in today’s fast paced business world, and the achievers you see standing before you today are all worthy winners indeed. They exemplify all that is best about BBK and, through the presentation of these awards, we are proud and honoured to be able to show our gratitude to them.”
Mr. Hassaan Burshaid, BBK’s Assistant General Manager – Human Resources and Administration added: “BBK employees who demonstrates excellence deserve to be recognised for their efforts, and when this recognition is effective, as we believe is the case with our ERP programme, it creates a positive environment across the whole Bank. Our customers always appreciate receiving service, advice or assistance that is above and beyond their expectations.
