Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait introduces Card Issuance Machines at its Branches

BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, is proud to announce the launch of its latest channel for Card Issuance at its Branches. These new machines will provide retail customers the liberty to instantly generate and collect their personalized, fully functioning EMV chip and contactless enabled Debit Cards at their own convenience. Now, BBK customers can walk out of the branch with their newly activated debit card in hand immediately after they open an account or upon their request.
Dr. Abdulrahman Ali Saif, BBK’s Group Chief Executive commented: “In our continuous efforts to provide our customers with a convenient and enhanced banking experience, I am pleased to announce the launch of a new self-service channel that combines ease of use, reliability and high level of security. The new Card Issuance Machines, which are now available and easily accessible at a number of BBK Branches and Financial Malls to our retail customers, will offer our customers on-the-spot card issuance with minimal waiting times”.
Dr. Adel Salem, General Manager of the Retail Banking Division at BBK also added: “Through these new machines, retail customers will be able to issue new ready-to-use debit cards, replace existing cards and renew expired cards effortlessly hence offering them the speed and convenience of immediate, anytime card issuance. Moreover, customers will be directed to the self-service machines immediately after they open an account to issue their debit cards, which will be printed and activated instantly”.
It is worth mentioning that contact card replacements to contactless cards are free of charge if the card was lost/damaged or even if the customer wants to get the contactless card. However charges apply for contactless to contactless Debit Card replacements.
These new machines are currently available in a number of BBK’s Financial Malls, namely, the Adliya Financial Mall, the Budaiya Financial Mall, the Exhibition Road Financial Mall, the Riffa Financial Mall, and the Muharraq Financial Mall.
Moreover, the machines are available at the newly opened Atrium Mall Branch and at the City Center Branch and will also be introduced in additional BBK branches in the near future.
The introduction of the instant cards issuance machines is the latest in a series of technological and innovative enhancements that BBK has been offering in order to enable and empower the customer to enjoy the latest advent in technology through faster, more secure and convenient services. Other recently launched services include the Bank certificates issuance machines, the Ask BBK service and the Electronic Remittance via MaxWallet to name a few, in order to cater to all customers and their busy schedules.
