Ankara seeks better trade ties with Damascus

(MENAFN) Turkish President Abdullah Gul affirmed the necessity of boosting cooperation between Turkey and Syria to match the level of the distinguished political relations between the two countries, Sana reported.

Gul underlined the importance of the role played by Syrian and Turkish businessmen in increasing trade exchange between the two countries in order for it to reach $5 billion during the coming two years.

He also stressed the importance of bolstering relations between businessmen in both countries, affirming that his country is working to provide all kinds of support to encourage joint investments and stressing the need for true partnerships in the fields of constructions, infrastructures, communications, energy, airports, tourism and banking.
