What are the requirements needed to open an account?

To open a Current Account, please take note of the following requirements:

For Bahrainis:
Minimum salary of BD 500
Two valid IDs (Original CPR/Smart Card and Passport).

For Non-Bahrainis:
Minimum salary of BD 700
Original CPR/Smart card
Passport (with Residence Permit for expatriates residing in Bahrain or within the GCC countries).
Self-employed:
Original Commercial Registration (CR).
Bank Statement (last three months).

What is the minimum balance required to open an account?

You would need at least BD 300 to open a Current Account.
No minimum balance fees will be charged to customers with special needs, orphans, widows, pensioners, students and individuals with a monthly salary below BD 250, and individuals receiving social subsidies from the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs. The customer must present the necessary documents and IDS to qualify for the exemption.
