(MENAFN) ONA reported that passenger traffic via the Muscat International Airport during the first five months of this year rose by 30 percent to 2,235,100 as against 1,721,900 during the corresponding period last year.
The Directorate-General of Air Services at the Ministry of Transport and Communications said that the increase in the number of passengers who travelled via Muscat International Airport was due to an increase in flights of some airlines, including Air India Express, Shaheen International Airlines and Air Arabia.
Air cargo traffic via Muscat International Airport by the end of May this year also increased by 69 percent to 39,298 tons compared to 23,302 tonnes during the corresponding period last year.
